Switchgear Installation engineer/fitter

Key Responsibilities:
- Install and commission high voltage switch gear and other electrical equipment in accordance with engineering specifications and diagrams.
- Conduct tests, inspections, and functional checks to ensure proper installation and adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to design and implement switch gear installations.
- Read and interpret electrical and engineering drawings, specifications, and layouts for installation tasks.
- Perform wiring, cabling, and interconnections of switch gear components using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Ensure proper termination and insulation of cables to prevent short circuits and maintain electrical integrity.
- Verify proper functioning of switch gear components, such as circuit breakers, relays, and meters.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during installation and testing, and assist with repairs as needed.
- Coordinate with other trades and contractors to ensure the seamless integration of switch gear equipment with other systems.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Document completed installations, test results, and maintenance activities, maintaining accurate records.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Switchgear Installation Engineer / Fitter or similar role, preferably in high voltage systems.
- ECS Card Required
- Sound knowledge of switchgear and electrical equipment used in power transmission and distribution.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety procedures.
- Experience in wiring and cabling switchgear components and using electrical hand tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot installation issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
