🏥The Inquiry is an independent statutory Public Inquiry with a high media profile, and it is currently seeking an Assistant Solicitor to join its legal team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the Inquiry, working closely with both the Solicitor and Deputy Solicitor to ensure the efficient delivery of outcomes and support for the Chair.


🎓As an Assistant Solicitor, you will be responsible for preparing working papers on lines of enquiry, including identifying and recovering evidence. You will work with other members of the Inquiry team and legal representatives of core participants and others to prepare witness statements. You will also liaise with Counsel on the progress of lines of enquiry and witness statements in preparation for oral hearings.


👉In return, the Inquiry offers a great opportunity to implement and develop your skills through helping to deliver a major and high-profile Public Inquiry. You will gain valuable insight into complex capital health projects, how they are managed and governed, contractual structures and relationships, and how decisions relating to those projects can impact on the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland.


The post is based in Central Edinburgh, although there may be occasional travel to Glasgow. Whilst adopting a hybrid working approach, the post holder is expected to be in the office at least three days a week.


If you have experience of delivering demanding and/or complex legal projects in at least one of; commercial/ contractual, legislative; litigation or other relevant field and meet the essential criteria, we want to hear from you
