We are currently working with a blue-chip construction company.


They are looking for a mid/senior construction disputes counsel to manage claims, with a focus on Building Safety.


Role:

  • Mid/Senior Contentious Construction Lawyer;
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a qualified solicitor;
  • Can consider part-time and flexible working, based in Waterloo, London.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispute Resolution: Handle and manage construction-related disputes, particularly those arising under the Building Safety Act, including litigation, arbitration, adjudication, and mediation processes.
  • Compliance Advisory: Provide expert legal advice on compliance with the Building Safety Act, advising on risk management, and ensuring that all construction projects meet safety requirements.
  • Contractual Disputes: Manage disputes related to safety obligations in construction contracts, including issues of non-compliance, remediation works, and liability claims.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential legal risks associated with building safety issues and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.


Experience and competencies:

  • Qualified lawyer in England & Wales or any relevant jurisdiction.
  • Technical legal knowledge and commercial understanding of the construction industry.
  • Experience leading litigation cases, including arbitration and adjudication.
  • Familiar with concepts around construction project insurance and the management of claims.
  • Legal professional standard of English (written and spoken).
