ESG Manager

Join our clients dynamic banking team as an ESG Manager, where you'll play a vital role in driving forward their sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives.

As an ESG Manager, you'll be at the forefront of shaping the bank’s commitment to sustainability, engaging stakeholders, overseeing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts, and charting the course for their ESG strategy.

You'll be tasked with developing and implementing a comprehensive sustainability and ESG strategy tailored to the banks institution's goals and values. This will involve setting clear objectives, identifying key milestones, and prioritising initiatives to support both business growth and risk management objectives. Regular reporting to leadership and the Board will be essential to track progress and ensure alignment with overarching objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Collaboration will be central to your role, as you'll work closely with colleagues across departments to maximize the impact of our ESG initiatives. Leading a dedicated working group, you'll harness collective expertise to identify opportunities, assess outcomes, and refine our approach over time. Drawing on your expertise, you'll serve as a trusted advisor on ESG matters, staying abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices.

• Your role will extend beyond internal operations to include external engagement and representation. As the face of the institution on sustainability and ESG issues, you'll engage with stakeholders, participate in industry forums, and represent the bank publicly, showcasing our commitment to responsible banking practices. Additionally, you'll oversee the creation of their annual ESG report, ensuring transparency and accountability in their efforts.

• Collaboration will also extend to internal functions, as you'll work closely with HR and Marketing to integrate ESG and DEI principles into their organisational culture and external messaging. As the leader of the Climate Change Working Group, you'll spearhead efforts to address this critical issue within our institution and beyond.

To excel in this role, you'll need:

• A solid foundation in ESG-focused roles within financial institutions, along with a deep understanding of ESG regulations and trends, particularly in the UK context.
• Your ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders, coupled with a commercially minded and pragmatic approach to ESG implementation, will be crucial.
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, coupled with high integrity and adept problem-solving abilities, will further enable you to drive meaningful change and innovation in our clients ESG initiatives.
