Maths Academic Mentor – Newham – ASAP


Are you passionate about Maths and know you can improve the level of a range of students? Do you have a strong Maths degree and experience in tutoring/teaching it as a subject?

A secondary school in Newham is looking for a top-quality Maths Graduate to bring their experience, expert knowledge and enthusiasm to their department as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Support a select number of students in improving their GCSE Maths results
  • Assist high aiming students and pupils who require additional support
  • Collaborate with teachers and senior staff to develop tailored learning strategies
  • Contribute to delivering focused lessons and activities designed to enhance student outcomes
  • Use your subject knowledge to elevate the standard of Maths education in the department

Qualifications:

  • A 2:1 or higher degree in Maths (or a closely related discipline) from a Top 20 UK university
  • Prior experience working with children or tutoring students in a Maths-related subject is preferred
  • The ability to communicate concepts, idea and content effectively
  • Enthusiastic about supporting students in achieving top grades in Maths
  • Confident in managing student behaviour and facilitating small group sessions
