Up to £130,000 basic + bonus

About the Role

Our client, a prominent global leader in the data centre industry, is seeking a Head of DCIM to join their Major Builds Delivery Team. This role is pivotal in defining the technical direction for DCIM, encompassing BMS/BAS, EPMS, Automation, IT, and Electronic Security. You will act as the Technical Authority, setting the standard for design, procurement, and implementation across international projects, ensuring innovation, cost-efficiency, and consistency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead DCIM Strategy: Ensure adherence to the company’s DCIM strategy and align project designs with standardised methodologies. Develop strong relationships with client DCIM SMEs to position the company as a trusted partner.
  • Global Project Oversight: Provide technical guidance to regional teams, ensuring that DCIM systems are efficiently designed to protect data centres, optimize power usage, and provide valuable insights through timely alarms, notifications, and reports.
  • Innovation and R&D: Drive innovation by tracking and implementing new technologies that enhance design efficiency, reduce costs, and improve power utilization effectiveness (PUE) in new data centres.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, and Commercial teams to integrate DCIM strategies into broader project goals, aligning with corporate sustainability initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead independent audits of DCIM systems, update technical standards, and develop reporting systems to track engineering and cost efficiencies.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Expertise: Deep understanding of BMS, IT, Security systems, commissioning, and multi-disciplinary engineering projects. Proven experience with Hyperscale Data Centre design and delivery is essential.
  • Leadership: Skilled at leading complex teams in a matrix environment and driving innovative solutions that meet global project requirements.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficient in various BMS and EPMS systems, SQL database management, and communication protocols (BAC-net, Modbus, TCP/IP).
  • Global Experience: Familiarity with international design standards and regulatory compliance, with the flexibility to travel on short notice.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders, lead geographically dispersed teams, and drive collaboration.
  • Qualifications: Experience working in a Data Centre or Mission Critical industries.
