Role Overview: 

 

The Head of Platform & Community will lead ProcureTech’s design, build, nurturing, and scaling of vibrant global communities. This senior role is pivotal to our strategic objectives, aimed at enhancing engagement and action through innovative platforms and communities and creating an interactive environment that resonates with and adds significant value to all that participate. In this role you will own the overall strategy and execution. 

 

You will be at the forefront of shaping the community's culture and operational strategy. Your mission will be to harness the power of digital platforms to facilitate meaningful interactions and foster a sense of belonging. This role involves strategic oversight of the community's growth, ensuring that the platform remains a cutting-edge, engaging, and inclusive space for professional collaboration and development. 

 

You will be responsible for developing and implementing community strategies that align with our business goals, enhancing participant experience through continuous improvements to the platform, and engagement through inspiring content and interactive initiatives. Your leadership will ensure that the community not only thrives but also serves as a critical asset to the industry, influencing product development and enhancing customer satisfaction. In this role you will work closely with the whole ProcureTech team. 

 

This position requires a blend of technical savvy, future thinking, and a deep understanding of community dynamics. You must be passionate about leading innovative community initiatives and have a proven track record of transforming engagement platforms into essential business ways of working. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Design and implement comprehensive strategies to grow and nurture the platform and community, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives. 
  • Align community development and initiatives with our target audience and personas to maximise market fit and user engagement. 
  • Oversee the technical platform, ensuring it is robust, user-friendly, and capable of supporting a growing community.  
  • Collaborate with the product team and the platform supplier to enhance platform functionality and integrate community feedback into organisational processes and product improvements, as the needs and wants of the communities develop. 
  • Develop and maintain participant onboarding and engagement protocols. Foster positive interactions among community members and moderate discussions to ensure compliance with community guidelines. 
  • Oversee the creation and curation of content (working with both internal and external content creators) that engages community members. Ensure content is valuable, relevant, and promotes active participation.  
  • Utilise data analytics to track community engagement and satisfaction, generate insights, and report on community health to stakeholders. Use data to refine community strategies and demonstrate ROI. 
  • Partner with the marketing and sales teams to identify ‘hot’ content for use in campaigns. Commission marketing campaigns to attract content creators and drive registrations.  
  • Manage the budget for community initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources while maximising ROI. 
  • Forge and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to enhance community offerings and leverage opportunities for co-marketing or collaborative engagement. 
  • Oversee the maintenance and continuous update of community to reflect accurate information.  
  • Keep abreast of new trends, technologies, and best practices in community engagement to continuously innovate and improve the community strategy. 
  • Advise and coach colleagues on how to best participate in the community.  

 


Qualifications: 

 

  • Demonstrable senior community and platform leadership, management, engagement, and development experience. 
  • Highly organised, proactive, and adaptable, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to interact effectively with all levels of an organisation and external partners. 
  • Sociable and authoritative, able to manage and motivate content contributors. 
  • Extensive knowledge of digital platforms and the technology that drives online professional communities. 
  • Passionate about building and nurturing online communities. 
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret community engagement data and make informed decisions. 
  • Highly desirable: content, publishing, communications, or editorial experience. 
  • Desirable: knowledge of the supply chain, B2B, procurement and digital procurement space. 

 

Education: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communication, or a related field.
