With over 30 years of surveying experience, HES provides engineering examination and testing services to a wide variety of industry sectors including automotive, aerospace, construction, marine, power/energy, nuclear, oil & gas, manufacturing & utilities, arts & entertainment, education.


We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified and experienced LEV Engineer Surveyor to become part of our friendly professional expanding team. Based from home with occasional visits to the HES headquarters near Reading, you will travel to various sites across Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey and Wiltshire with some out of area work when necessary.


Role Responsibilities

  • Carry out high quality examinations in accordance with CoSHH.
  • Ensure examinations are completed in line with a planned daily schedule provided to you by our efficient central planning team.
  • Produce examination reports using our PRIME reporting system in a professional manner within company service standards.
  • Build and maintain excellent client relationships and ensure that customer service standards are met.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of British, European & International current standards.
  • Maintain technical standards and participate in technical audits (both internal and external).
  • Identify possible business opportunities for HES.

  • Recognised engineering qualification e.g. Level 3 NVQ / ONC / HNC / HND / EngTech / IEng / CEng (Mechanical Engineering roles) or BOHS LEV P601, P602, P603 & P604 for LEV.
  • Current UK driving license.
  • Proven engineering background within a sound mechanical/electrical discipline.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of fume/particle extraction systems.
  • Ability to work independently but also as a key team player.
  • Responsive and flexible with enthusiasm for exceeding customer expectations.
  • Good knowledge of industry trends, developments and changes in health and safety legislation.
  • Excellent written and organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • IT literate.
