Front-End Developer/ Designer

Passionate about outdoor adventure? This leading website for snow sports enthusiasts is looking for a Front-End Developer/Designer to craft beautiful and responsive websites to enhance user experience for its main and sister websites. You’ll play a vital role in shaping their brand design direction, optimising web content and collaborating on advertising and newsletters – all while working with a team that’s deeply passionate about the outdoors

Their sites and apps offer highly accurate, real-time weather and snow forecasts for over 3,000 ski resorts globally. With over 25 years in the game, their sites attract more than 60 million visitors annually, providing detailed information updated several times daily to ensure users have access to the best snow conditions.

What will I be doing?

You’ll be responsible for designing seamless, user-friendly websites that improve the experience across both the main site and its sister platforms. Over the years, the websites have become somewhat disjointed, so a big task of yours will be to bring consistency and modernisation, using the latest technologies. As part of a close-knit team, you’ll work with both marketing and development teams to integrate ads and help bring new ideas to life.

What skills and experience do I need?

  • Design Focus: Proficient in Figma, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, and familiar with modern web design principles.
  • Front-End Development: Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Template Engine: Familiarity with the “Slim” template engine (Ruby) is preferred, though easy to pick up for those without prior experience.
  • SEO: Knowledge of SEO and web optimisation would be beneficial.
  • About 3 years of commercial experience.

What's in it for me?

This is a hybrid role based in South Wales, they value collaboration so they would ideally like you to be office-based a few times a week. They’re happy to offer flexible hours and for you to work remotely from abroad for a few weeks in a year.

They’re offering a salary of up to £37,500 for this role, flexible for the right candidate. They encourage outdoor enthusiasts to apply, as they often organise trips for activities like snowboarding, skiing, and mountain biking.
