Our client, a leading environmental waste services company, delivering services to the Energy sectors, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sales Executive to join their team on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will offer a proven track record in a similar role within the environmental or industrial sales sector and offer knowledge of the energy sector.


You will play a crucial role in the success of our environmental and industrial services business, especially in the dynamic energy sectors. Your mission is to drive significant sales growth by creating and executing sales plans, building lasting client relationships, and championing our commitment to sustainability. Join us to lead innovative projects, explore new market opportunities in energy, renewables and nuclear, and contribute to a cleaner, greener future.

Operating in England with key bases in Great Yarmouth, this role can be worked on a remote basis with the understanding that travel within England and to Great Yarmouth will be required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Planning and Strategy

  • Develop and maintain Comprehensive Sales Plans: Create and implement a strategic sales plan tailored to the UK market, focusing on environmental and industrial services.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients and industry trends, and incorporate findings into the sales strategy.
  • Target Setting: Establish clear revenue and margin targets, and develop a roadmap to achieve these goals within specified timeframes.


Sales Approach and Conversion Management

  • Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, ensuring all entries are actively managed to progress towards successful closure.
  • Lead Development: Identify and nurture potential leads, transforming them into clear business opportunities.
  • Sales Conversion: Employ effective sales techniques and innovative approaches to convert leads into profitable sales, ensuring a high conversion rate.


Client Relationships

  • Client Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring a positive and professional client experience.
  • Client Evaluation: Collaborate with the finance team to assess new clients' credit risks and ensure they meet acceptable standards before commencing trade.
  • Client Retention: Implement strategies to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty, driving repeat business and referrals.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and training initiatives to enhance overall team performance.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Qualified to Honours Degree level in a relevant subject and/or a minimum of five years' relevant experience
  • Driving licence


Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)

  • Experience: Proven track record in sales within the environmental or industrial services sector, preferably with experience in the energy industry.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and manage relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of sales, sales processes, environmental markets and customer relations. Familiarity with financial principles and credit risk assessment.
  • Attributes: Results-driven, proactive, and able to work independently. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Maintains positive work relationships
