We are currently searching for a CDM Advisor to work on a contract basis on a nuclear project in Suffolk.
This will be site based in Leiston and will run through to the end of December but likely to be long term.

Reporting to the Conventional Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager, the purpose of the role is to support the CDM Lead in providing assurance to the Client Organisation that the Client's duties are being discharged as required by CDM 2015.
This will include using CDM and health and safety knowledge and experience to influence and coach stakeholders as required.
This is a senior professional role within the Safety and Security Assurance directorate, responsible for the delivery of assurance activities which are specific as to objective and content and may require co-ordination with related functions / programmes requiring the ability to motivate and influence.
Also required will be the ability to work independently with limited oversight from the Conventional Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager, but working closely with the CDM Lead

Key stakeholders are: UK Government, relevant Government departments and agencies including the Treasury, Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, private financial investors and institutions, Regulators (Office for Nuclear Regulation and Environment Agency), Alliance partners and local communities.

Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions
• Engage with other HS&W Leads to undertake proportionate assurance activities based on the CDM assurance plan or on a reactive basis where identified
• Stakeholder management is focused on factual knowledge rather than strategic working with internal and external partners to ensure delivery outcomes and timelines meet expectations. This may require elements of relationship management and negotiation.
• Work closely with the H&S Lead Advisor (Project Delivery) and CDM Lead to ensure that the CDM Assurance Plan is achieved and identify any ‘ad hoc' items that may need further assurance checks
• Engage with the site Delivery Team / Civil Works Programme to ensure proportionate follow-up to events and incidents and undertake follow-up activity on behalf of the Client Organisation where required
• Utilise experience to challenge and coach other duty holders in order to maintain the required arrangements
• Work with the Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager, site Delivery Team and CWP to ensure that effective strategies to discharge CDM requirements are developed and implemented.

Experience:
Essential
• Proven track record of achieving objectives on major construction and / or engineering projects.
• Excellent knowledge of UK legislation and applicable regulations related to construction activities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop a wide network and working relationships within Sizewell C, the site Delivery Team and Civil Works Programme organisation.
• Results focus tempered with team centred approach.
• Good knowledge and understanding of CDM Duty Holder responsibilities.

Desirable
• Experience of operating on nuclear related construction projects

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
• NEBOSH National Diploma or European equivalent.
• Chartered membership of IOSH or equivalent or relevant professional body
• Evidence of CPD

Desirable
• NEBOSH National Construction Certificate.
• Member of Association for Project Safety.
• Experience in successfully influencing and engaging senior business leaders and supporting project teams.
