A Senior FF&E job is now available with a design practice based in South East London. This is an exciting role, perfect for a multitasker looking to design across a range of aesthetics whilst developing the FF&E department. Salary of circa £55,000 DOE.

This design studio has over ten years of experience working across a variety of projects including residential, commercial, and BTR developments. Their services include interior design, FF&E, furnishing and procurement for private clients and developers.

They are currently looking for a passionate designer to lead the FF&E side of the business. This will include designing furniture collections on large schemes, gyms, co-working, and all forms of amenity and building requirements. The role will work closely with the clients and company owners to develop the team, build concepts, and work towards advancing the business.

Role & Responsibilities

- Taking the client lead and developing strong working relationshipsn- Working with the directors, supporting them in new business as a leader in the fieldn- Creating and deciphering design briefs to ensure clear communication throughout the companyn- Creating design concepts and confidently presenting them to clients and investorsn- Working on FF&E specifications & schedules, including costingsn- Coordinating FF&E with other internal teamsn- Overseeing all FF&E procurement, taking responsibility for POs specification sheets and deliveriesn- Working closely with consultants and external suppliersn- Working with the wider team in the spatial planning and designing of each projectn- Sourcing/researching new suppliers, ascertaining suitability, and developing the supplier databasen- Negotiating, coordinating, and liaising with suppliers to ensure that all specifications & deliveries meet deadlines & budgetsn- Overseeing the installation of projects, including styling requirements & overseeing photoshootsn- Liaising with PM’s and installation teams to ensure smooth delivery and installation of the projectsn- Supporting the wider company in its sustainability targetsn- Reporting to the design director on tasks and deliverablesn- Managing one FF&E Designer.

Required Skills & Experience

- Diploma or degree in interior design, interior architecture or architecturen- Proven experience working on both residential and hospitality projectsn- An extensive knowledge of and relationships with the suppliers of contract furnituren- In-depth knowledge of products, materials and suppliersn- General knowledge of interior architecture with the ability to read and understand technical drawings, including furniture shop drawingsn- Proven experience in managing procurement and installations (budgeting, scheduling etc)n- Ability to understand and formulate design decisions and present them for discussionn- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesn- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamn- Experience as a line manager overseeing junior and intermediate designersn- Understanding of the financial aspects of running a design project, beneficial but not essentialn- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesignn- Experience using Estimac or similarn- Legal right to work in the UK.
