Research Scientist – Chemist - R&D - Coatings/Adhesives/Paint/Polymers
Our Client is a leading manufacturer of innovative ultrablack coatings solutions, dedicated to advancing technology and delivering high-performance products to a diverse range of industries. Their commitment to research and development sets them apart as a leader in the coatings for light suppression industry.
They are seeking a Research Scientist to join their R&D team and will involve supporting research projects, developing new products, and contributing to the technical expertise within the R&D department. The position will be tailored to the experience level of the candidate, with more advanced responsibilities for a Senior Research Scientist.
Responsibilities:
* Research and Development: Lead and conduct research projects focused on the development of new coatings technologies, formulations, and processes to meet market demands and customer requirements.
* Project Management: Support/manage multiple R&D projects simultaneously, including planning, execution, and reporting, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
* Innovation and Problem-Solving: Identify new opportunities for product innovation and improvement, utilizing cutting-edge materials and techniques to solve complex challenges in coatings technology.
* Testing and Evaluation: Design and conduct experiments to evaluate the performance of coatings, including mechanical, chemical, and environmental testing, ensuring products meet or exceed industry standards.
* Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, manufacturing, and marketing, to ensure successful product development and commercialization.
* Customer Interaction: Work directly with customers to understand their needs, provide technical support, and tailor coating solutions to specific applications.
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate records of research activities, including laboratory notebooks, technical reports, and patent documentation. Prepare and present research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
* Safety and Compliance: Ensure all research activities comply with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards, maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment.
* Continuous Learning: Stay current with the latest advancements in coatings technology, materials science, and industry trends through literature reviews, attending conferences, and engaging in professional development
Candidate Profile:
* Education: Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on coatings, polymers, or surface science.
In return, our Client is offering an attractive salary (provided at the time of application), 25 days holiday, death in service, gym membership contribution, private medical care. Early finish Friday (Monday – Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm, Friday 7:30am-12pm)
