As a fire and security engineer you'll dive into a hands-on role where every day brings exciting challenges and opportunities for growth. From installing cutting-edge fire detection systems to fine-tuning CCTV networks, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring safety and security for homes and businesses.
You will work closely with an experienced team of engineers learning how to protect individuals, homes and properties from risk and danger.
This involves installing and maintaining fire and security systems including fire alarms, intrusion detection, CCTV systems, and access control systems.
You will be traveling daily to client premises across a variety of sites: domestic, commercial, retail, and more.
This is a field-based position where regular travel is a requirement of the role, primarily working in Devon and Cornwall regions.
On-the-job training will be provided working closely with our experienced Fire & Security engineers, many of these engineers have also been through our apprenticeship scheme so they are the perfect mentors to guide you through the apprenticeship.

Training and Qualifications:
~ You will be enrolled on a level 3 Fire Emergency and Security Systems Technician qualification delivered by Banham Academy, alongside fellow Johnson Controls apprentices.
You will attend on a block release basis training and receive on-the-job guidance from experienced mentors and engineers.
You will be trained in the installation and testing techniques for fire and security systems, including fire alarms, intrusion detection, CCTV systems and access control systems.
Career Progression:
All of our apprentices immediately move into full time permanent engineering positions.
Previous apprentices have become lead engineers, managing their own teams and projects.
GCSE or equivalent in English (Grade 5)
Full Driving Licence is essential.
Desired Skills and Personal Qualities:
Availability to travel regularly as this is a field-based role.
If successful, they can begin the apprenticeship on September 2, 2024.
