My client is looking for an experienced, analytical professional with significant expertise in pricing, consumer insights, and data-driven decision-making to join our team. This individual will combine their extensive pricing and propositions experience gained in a retail or a consultancy environment with analytical rigour in order to assess pricing structures and providing insights into ranging and proposition decisions. The ideal candidate will act as a subject matter expert (SME) in pricing and consumer insights, facilitating internal pricing reviews and guiding the company from traditional Excel reporting to advanced analytics.

This responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a senior subject matter expert in retail pricing and consumer insights, leading internal pricing reviews, strategy sessions, and decision-making processes with data-driven insights.
  • Conduct deep analysis of pricing strategies, product assortments, and proposition decisions within the retail context, identifying strategic opportunities for growth and optimization including price scraping.
  • Proactively analyse retail market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive landscapes to drive innovative strategies and decisions.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings and strategic recommendations confidently across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership, to foster a culture of data literacy and informed decision-making.
  • Drive a culture of challenge and continuous improvement, constructively critiquing strategies and approaches while promoting innovative thinking and solutions.
  • Lead the creation and continuous improvement of dashboards from existing datasets, highlighting key retail metrics and insights.
  • In partnership with the Head of Business Intelligence, facilitate the transition from traditional Excel-based reporting to sophisticated analytics platforms, mentoring team members and driving adoption of best practices in data analysis and reporting.
  • Build and develop a team to deliver the above.

The key skills we are looking for are:

  • Degree in a Stem related field
  • Experience in either the Retail or Consultancy sector
  • Extensive experience in data analysis, particularly with pricing strategies and consumer insights
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience transitioning teams or projects from Excel to more advanced analytics platforms
  • Highly competent in SQL, Python and BI platforms such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely
