Leading Tier One civil engineering contractor with an enviable reputation for delivery and innovation have a need for an ambitious GF / Senior GF to take on a autonomous role on a major infrastructure scheme based in the Norwich area. The role offers significant opportunity for advancement within a business that promotes on merit and ability.


The suitable individual will have previous experience in civil engineering and earthworks projects in a related sector and will ensure works are executed safely, within programme and to the highest quality standards. They will undertake day to day management of site construction works. Have responsibility for effective coordination of resources working on the project. Ensure temporary and permanent works are delivered in accordance with the design. Plan material and plant requirements to meet programme and financial targets. Have involvement in planning and programming with site engineering teams. Participate in site meetings, ensure risk assessments, methos statements and RAMS are in place. Liaise and communicate with site teams and subcontractors, undertake site inductions with all subcontractors, including toolbox talks and briefings. Ensure subcontractors and trade gangs deliver work to meet safety, quality and programme requirements and conform to check sheets. Record and update site diaries.


The role will suit a General Foreman looking for that next step or a Senior General Foreman looking for career growth. The appropriate candidate will be an effective communicator with a track record of managing teams of trades and subcontractors, they will have experience of executing civils work in line with quality standards and safety documentation. Able to read and interpret design drawings and have proven leadership capability. The successful person will have excellent client liaison and interpersonal skills, be aware of individual health and safety responsibilities and be able to adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures They will have up to date and appropriate certifications and qualifications SMSTS, CSCS, First etc, or equivalent and be IT literate.

Salary and renumeration £50,000 to £65,000 per annum plus company vehicle, bonus and benefits
