Manpower working in partnership with Aston Martin are hiring for 2024 Join the team and be part of the iconic brand's legacy, crafting luxury performance cars in a state-of-the-art facility.

Job Purpose:To inspect, tack-off and spray-paint vehicles in Etch Primer, Primer, Base Coat or Clear Coat either on main line or in repair area.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:Meeting targets in terms of both productivity and qualityInspect vehicles to ensure no body defects, prior to paintingPrepare vehicles for spraying e.g. apply adhesion promoter, de-greasing and tacking off as requiredHand spray vehicles and substrate components to an acceptable standardEnsure correct application of base coats and clear coatsEnsure appropriate removal of any contaminants/dirt between coatsSet up, maintain and clean hoods and airlinesMaintain daily liaison with purchased service contractors, Group Leaders and Lead Technicians regarding issues including those that may compromise quality or productivityOccasional work in other areas e.g. prep and polish, as business needs dictate

Qualifications & Experience:The successful candidate will have a recognised apprenticeship or skilled experience in a similar position. Additionally, successful candidates will also require:Normal Colour VisionHand Eye co-ordination to maintain a smooth and even paint filmBi-annual lung function testAnnual HAV monitoring testPaint shop preparation and spray booths as well as any repair area required within siteExperience in a similar role is required

Additionally, nationally recognised qualifications such as those listed below are highly advantageous:BTEC Certificate/Diploma in Vehicle Technology levels 2 and 3City & Guilds Entry Level Award in Vehicle Systems and Body and Paint MaintenanceCity & Guilds Certificate/Diploma in Vehicle Body and Paint OperationsInstitute of the Motor Industry (IMI) awards in Vehicle Body and Paint Operations (Refinishing) levels 1 to 3.

Volume protection contractual overtime arrangements are in place to ensure required production demands can be met. Stand up and Stand down balances are managed as part of each employees Working Time Account (WTA).All production employees are required to align with fixed holidays throughout the year in line with production shutdowns.
