We are looking for a dedicated and flexible SEN English Tutor to join our Secondary schools in Halstead starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing tailored English instruction to students with special educational needs (SEN), helping them to achieve their full potential.
As an SEN English Tutor, you will be responsible for designing and delivering individualized lesson plans that cater to the specific learning needs of each student. You will work collaboratively with other educators and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Your ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and challenges will be key to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
Monitor and assess student progress, making necessary adjustments to teaching strategies.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support the overall development of each student.
Keep detailed records of student progress and attendance.
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in SEN education.
The ideal SEN English Tutor will possess:
A relevant teaching qualification and experience in tutoring English at the secondary level.
A deep understanding of special educational needs and effective strategies for supporting SEN students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
