An outstanding SEN School in Morden are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teacher to teach KS2 students with a variety of Special Educational Needs. This SEN School is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where every child can flourish. Through a holistic approach, the aim is to empower students to achieve their full potential and develop vital life skills.
This is a full-time role to start as soon as possible and will be with a view to going permanent. Once permanent, the salary will be equal to the main Teachers’ pay scale plus SEN points.
As a SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating an enriching and supportive learning atmosphere for lower KS2 students with PMLD and complex needs. Working closely with a team of dedicated professionals, you will design and deliver tailored lessons that address the unique needs and abilities of each student. Your dedication to inclusive education and your adaptability in employing various teaching strategies will be instrumental in fostering academic progress, social development, and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver lessons tailored to KS2 students with PMLD and complex needs.
Employ a range of teaching techniques and resources to facilitate active learning and sensory engagement.
Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to monitor student progress and guide instructional planning.
Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages independence, communication, and social interaction.
Qualifications and Skills:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with prior experience in teaching students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with PMLD and complex needs.
Possess a solid understanding of SEN pedagogy, including familiarity with relevant curriculum frameworks and assessment methods.
Demonstrate flexibility in adapting teaching approaches and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Uphold a commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality within the school community.
Display resilience, patience, and a compassionate approach to supporting students with complex needs.
