A global, full service face-to-face live events marketing partner is looking for a Business Development Manager to identify, pitch, and secure new business for the exhibitions team from exhibition and congress clients alike across Europe. Along with salary of up to £45,000 per annum, you will also receive 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and statutory public holidays, a health cash plan, life assurance, a travel season ticket loan, flexible working, free financial advice, and more 
You will be responsible for developing a pipeline of new business and its conversion into profitable business. Working with approved suppliers in the region as well as internal suppliers to ensure the best margins are obtained on those services offered. 
This is a remote role, with occasional travel to one of their UK offices and travel to exhibitions in and around Europe. Fluency in French is essential, with the ability to speak other European languages an advantage. A European passport is also highly beneficial due to the amount of travelling, but is not essential. 
As a Business Development Manager, your responsibilities will include: 
Achieving set sales targets for new business within Europe at the agreed margins.
Prospecting and qualifying opportunities and building a sales pipeline; identifying potential targets in the exhibition and congress sectors and ensuring there is sufficient opportunity to meet targets.
Developing proposal templates tailored for the different sectors and offerings.
Producing personalised proposals for clients and/or respond to RFI’s and RFP’s.
Producing presentations for pitches and lead those meetings.
Presenting credentials to clients in a face-to-face environment as well as through online meetings.
Working to increase the scope of work and services on offer to clients – upselling and cross-selling when appropriate and ensuring a profitable mix of revenue.
Taking a consultative approach to client development, focussing on innovative ways to develop business and service client’s needs, communicating your findings to your line manager.
Attending networking and marketing events to identify new prospects.
Ensuring that all CRM systems and reporting information is kept up to date and well maintained.
The successful Business Development Manager will have the following skills and experience: 
Fluency in French, with other languages beneficial
GCSE Maths and English or equivalent (A-C grade)
Experience gained within the exhibition and events industry
Experience working within a similar role/at a similar level
Communication (verbal, written and listening skills), with excellent spelling, grammar, and the ability to produce error-free documents
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
