An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated and enthusiastic team at a happy, thriving, and inclusive school. This one form entry Primary School in Central Liverpool warmly welcomes applications from energetic, skilled, and caring practitioners.
The successful candidate will work closely with the intervention team and act on recommendations from external agencies such as Speech and Language Therapy (SALT), Educational Psychologists (EP), and the Autism Support Team. This position is fixed term until August 2025, in the first instance, and is linked to Group funding.
The ideal candidate will be able to plan, deliver, and monitor well-thought-out sessions to support the development of a small group of Year 4 pupils on a full-time basis. They will collaborate closely with the class teacher to ensure an adaptive curriculum for children with a range of needs.
Requirements:
Be supportive of the inclusive Christian ethos of the school.
Be confident in supporting children on a 1:1 or small group basis.
Have experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs.
Be enthusiastic, hard-working, with a sense of humour and patience.
Be flexible, adaptable, and possess a positive working attitude.
Be able to set high expectations for themselves and the children.
Have a willingness to contribute positively to the team and be involved in the wider aspects of school life.
Have excellent skills in English and Maths.
Have a heart for children who need a lot of love.
Motivate and encourage the pupils by providing individual attention, reassurance, and help with learning tasks as appropriate to their needs.
Liaise with the class teacher, SENDCO, and other professionals about the pupil’s profile and contribute to planning and delivery as appropriate.
Be consistent and effective in implementing agreed behaviour management and social communication strategies.
Be willing to engage in training to increase knowledge and understanding around the role.
Be confident in supervising and working with small groups.
Monitor, evaluate, and report on progress.
