We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the cost management and procurement processes of construction projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in budgeting and financial control.
**Responsibilities:**
1. **Cost Estimation:** Collaborate with senior quantity surveyors/directors to estimate project costs, considering materials, labour, and overhead expenses.
2. **Budget Monitoring:** Assist in monitoring project budgets, tracking expenses, and providing regular financial updates to project managers.
3. **Tendering and Procurement:** Support in preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and managing procurement processes in accordance with project requirements.
4. **Measurement and Valuation:** Carry out quantity take-offs and valuations of work in progress, ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry standards.
5. **Contract Administration:** Assist in administering contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions and resolving contractual issues.
6. **Documentation:** Maintain accurate records of all quantity surveying activities, including measurements, valuations, and correspondence.
7. **Risk Management:** Identify potential risks related to costs and advise on strategies to mitigate them.
8. **Client Communication:** Effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders to address queries and provide financial updates.
**Skills:**
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
