The Role:
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining our school’s premises to the highest standards, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role is integral to the smooth running of our school, supporting a range of activities and events throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the school buildings and grounds
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs
Oversee security, including opening and locking up of the school premises
Set up and take down furniture and equipment for school events and activities
Conduct regular health and safety checks, ensuring compliance with regulations
Manage waste disposal and recycling processes
Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs
Respond promptly to any issues or emergencies that arise
Assist with traffic management during school drop-off and pick-up times
Requirements:
Previous experience in a caretaking or facilities management role is preferred
Strong practical skills and a hands-on approach to problem-solving
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor
Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations
An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate
