Overview:

Victoria Beckham Limited is recruiting a Garment & Quality Technologist with experience and expertise in tailoring. This role sits within the Production department and is responsible for industrialising all products, ensuring brand quality standard of both woven and fully factored products.

Main Responsibilities:nServe as a primary category contact for manufacturers during pre-production and production for fit, construction and quality.nEnsure that quality and performance standards are understood, met and kept consistent across manufacturers and product ranges.nCreate detailed technical pack specifications for factories to following during pre-production and production, to ensure garments conform to required aesthetic, construction, and finishing.nLog in garment and required target measurements within tech packs at all stages of the garment (SMS, PPS, BULK) and maintain grading/sizing rules, to ensure garments adhere to requested fit and production standards.nAttend all fit meetings and document concise SMS handover, PPS and Size set comments.nCommunicate detailed fit, quality and construction comments and requirements to suppliers.nWork closely with the Design, Atelier, Development and Production teams to ensure products are risk assessed in a timely manner.nEnsure seasonal Critical path dates are respected and immediately flag delays.nLog daily progress in seasonal Critical path and update with any changes to styles throughout pre-productionnEnsure that products comply with legal requirements.nChecking CRS performance standards are met by monitoring all reports and raise issues from SEDEX reports with Tech Manager in order to ensure VBL is compliant with legal requirements.nConduct product reviews in line with competitors fit and quality standards.nSupport the Technical manager and contribute with developing ways of working within the Tech team, to support the business in more efficient processes.nCommunicate fluidly, transparently and collaborate with ease.nMotivate and promote development of junior members within team.nResponsible for daily management of work placement students within the Technical team for docket building, measuring and tech team adminnBeing aware of department/seasonal budgets for technical department.

Pre-Production Sampling:nCreate detailed technical packs, with accurate measurement and manufacturing specifications for all CMT and fully factored product.nCheck pattern, costing sheet, production notes and development samples for CMT product.nLiaise daily with the Gerber Pattern Cutters to communicate alterations, construction requirements and flag pattern discrepancies.nPrepare all relevant spec work for special processes (pleating/print lay-plans etc.)nMeasure development samples, annotate discrepancies and prepare them for factory reference.nEnsure dockets and patterns are completed ahead of pre-production launch.nFlagging, communicating, and documenting any discrepancies/changes to Product Costings.

Pre-Production Fittings:nMeasure all Pre-Production samples from factory before fittings.nConcisely present all measurement and manufacturing discrepancies to the team during fits.nRecord fit notes concisely during each fit session, making them accessible to the team.nAssess PPS manufacturing discrepancies/issues to propose better solutions for bulk.nConduct thorough analysis of PPS for fit, construction, measurements, and grading approval.

Production Handover:nGenerate detailed PPS comments and finalize tech packs for production handover within critical path deadlines.nUpdate final measurements and manufacturing specification sheets to issue for production.nUpdate all relevant paperwork for special processes (pleating/print lay-plans etc.)nFollow up with factories to ensure comments are clear.nFlag any potential issues with factories and Technical Manager/ Production Manager and request TOP samples to factories on high risk/quantity styles.

Quality Control:nConduct quality control on size sets in line with delivery deadlines for CMT and Fully factored product across all collection.nSet up and complete QC reports to document sizing and quality assessment of product.nResolve any issues that may occur during bulk production, always ensuring that product standards are maintained.nUrgently flag to Technical and Production Manager if product is not compliant with set standards.nAdvise on specific packaging requirements and labelling placement when necessary.nCheck whether packaging, care label, disclaimers have been followed by factories on size sets.nBuild relationships with manufacturers with on-site visits and work with them to benefit the overall finish of brand product.nWork closely with the Tech Manager to organize visits to UK and European factories in line with ex-factory dates.nOversee RTV’s received from Sales/E-comm/ Client services and proactively assess and resolve queries.

Essential Skills & Requirements:nMinimum of 10 years of Garment Technology experience with a heavy focus on tailoring.nBachelor/ Masters Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Garment Technology/ Pattern Cutting or the equivalent combination of education and experience.nGood knowledge of garment construction methods and manufacturing sewing operations, including pattern making, grading and marking processes.nA working knowledge of materials, technical fabrics and functional aspects of garments.nStrong organisational skills to provide well documented products, thorough specifications and meet deadlines.nExperience working with factories overseas and an understanding of constraints and timescales.nAbility to communicate effectively with suppliers and agents.nAbility to anticipate technical problems, and to plan and implement corrective action plan.nAbility and enthusiasm to grow and adapt within a fast-growing business.nAbility to work under pressure to meet key deadlines.nAn understanding and appreciation for luxury apparel.
