CNC Programmer / Machinist

Wigan

Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:00, Friday 07:30 – 15:00 (Overtime Available at 1.5X)

Ideal Recruit are currently looking for a CNC Programmer / Machinist on behalf of our client in the Wigan area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a privately owned, established company with an excellent track record of looking after and retaining their staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce small batches of high quality parts
Programme, Set and Operate 3 axis machines with Heidenhain controls
Read technical drawings and be self sufficient from start to finish
Take pride and responsibility in your work
Calibrating machines for precise measurements and ensuring that the machine settings match the specifications of the component.
Diagnosing and fixing issues related to machine operation, tooling, and part quality.
Work closely with Engineers and Toolmakers to manufacture high quality tools
Adhering to workplace safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

Ideally you will be a time served Engineer
Strong Programming skills (CAD/CAM) – our client has facilities for offline Programming as well as on the machines
Must be competent using Heidenhain controls
Proven CNC Machining background
Proficient in CNC Milling
Must be a self sufficient engineer, who is passionate about their work
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Ability to communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and management
Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
