We are looking for a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join an amazing SEN school team and support students with special educational needs. The role involves working closely with pupils aged 4-11 to ensure their well-being, learning progress, and overall development.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend to pupils' personal needs, including social, health, hygiene, intimate care, first-aid, and welfare, in accordance with school policies.
Maintain high and realistic expectations for all pupils.
Provide administrative support to teachers, including photocopying, record-keeping, and creating symbols.
Assist in developing individual education plans (IEPs) and personal care programmes for students.
Supervise and provide both individual and group support for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs.
Offer effective, tailored feedback to pupils, supporting their progress and achievement.
Annotate pupil work to a high standard, in line with school requirements.
Use ICT in learning activities, helping pupils develop their skills and independence in using technology.
Apply curricular knowledge or experience to support pupils' learning.
Supervise whole classes in the short-term absence of a teacher.
Liaise with parents, families, and a range of professionals as directed by the teacher.
Take initiative to develop and implement actions that promote pupils' learning, progress, and achievement.
Supervise pupils during various activities and in different areas of the school, such as the hall, playground, and during lunch.
Carry out any additional reasonable duties as directed by the Head Teacher or Deputy Head Teacher.Requirements:
Experience in working with and caring for children of the relevant age.
Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
SEN Experience is desired
Competence in using ICT to support teaching and learning.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
Flexibility and initiative in handling tasks and challenges.
