The Role:nAs a Senior Risk Analyst at BNP Paribas Personal Finance UK, you will be a key member of the Risk Analytics team, providing analytical insight into customer behaviour in order to shape and optimise credit strategy across all of our UK credit products.

With access to a wide range of internal and external data sources such as CRA information, several aspects of credit risk will be explored, including the development and validation of scorecards, policy rules, pricing, limits management and affordability models, whilst ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the business on diverse projects to achieve sustainable growth across our business lines.

You will build product knowledge whilst ensuring effective performance monitoring is in place, proactively identifying and highlighting emerging trends, investigating alerts and developing appropriate solutions to improve business performance.

You may be responsible for supervising junior analysts, prioritising their workload, encouraging knowledge sharing and ensuring outputs produced are accurate and of a high standard.nWe put our customers at the heart of everything we do. Ensuring that lending follows the correct standards of the business, whilst treating customers fairly, you will support the BNP Paribas group strategic plan to accelerate growth, technology and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:nDevelop and monitor risk strategies which maximise revenue whilst minimising bad debt on new and existing business lines.nBuild and maintain relationships with Central Risk, Finance, Marketing and external teams, whilst delivering new lending strategies within the agreed risk appetite.nPlan, control and deliver assigned projects, and participate as appropriate in cross functional projects and investigations, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan.nEnsure key risk management information is in place in order to support business direction within agreed risk appetite.nIdentify areas of cost reduction, service and process improvements that will results in adding value to the business whilst treating customers fairly.nPerform a health check of all credit portfolios against internal and external benchmarks, summarising performance of credit risk strategies, emerging trends and issues for monthly committees.nConduct in-depth exploratory analysis on different client segments and portfolios, assessing KPI’s and ensuring outputs produced are accurate and of a high standard.nLiaise with Operational teams to ensure that policies and procedures are being complied with in an efficient manner.nAs requested, liaise with other departments or external organisations e.g. Credit Bureau on any current or future initiatives.nLiaise with all levels of seniority across the business.nKeep abreast of new developments and regulatory issues.

Skills & Attributes:nEducated to Degree level or higher in a quantitative field.nLeast 2 Years experience in an analytical role.nexperience in using at least one of the following programming languages; SAS, SQL or Python.nexperience in Microsoft Excel.nof; credit life cycle, credit bureau, financial products, economic conditions.nCommunication skills – verbal and written.npresentation skills.nlevel of accuracy and attention to detail.nand organise for self and others.nideas to challenge existing business practices.nand committed to delivery.ninitiative and ownership of work.nrelationships internally and externally.nwith business needs.nplanning and managing projects.nTrain junior analysts if required.
