In this role, you will play a crucial part in minimising commercial risks while supporting the Category Managers and Senior Category Manager to manage complex supply chain categories.
Leveraging data-driven analysis and insights to support the development of Category and Sourcing Strategies and Supplier Relationships, you will communicate and engage with key cross-functional stakeholders to co-lead category strategies / projects to ensure effective execution. The role will ensure we drive commercial value from our Suppliers and support our Safety, Sustainability and CSR commitments.
The office location is based at Monument, London.
Day-to-day of the Assistant Category Manager:
* Supporting Category Managers in the creation and delivery of Category Strategies, providing input into any data gathering, analysis, planning and execution processes, using Category Management Tools and techniques to drive value for our Customers and reducing whole life costs.
* Tracking and reporting on the performance of Category Strategies, including benefits realisation, stakeholder engagement and Supplier Relationship Management.
* Supporting the sourcing process for complex tenders, managing the Delta e-tendering system, including issuing of notices, Procurement Documents, managing the Tender Query process and tender evaluations.
* Develop effective internal and external stakeholder relationships and maintain open and productive communications.
* Assist in guiding and supporting the business in procurement activities, adhering to company policies and regulations.
The successful Assistant Category Manager will be able to demonstrate:
* Working knowledge of procurement within a regulated environment
* Experience within a compliance, systems, process or governance-focused procurement role
* Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office, P2P systems, SharePoint)
* Expert in MS Excel
* Ability to identify and deliver continual improvements
Salary & Benefits of Assistant Category Manager
* Salary: £40k - £42.5K
* Final salary pension scheme (personal contribution 7.4%, company contribution 11.4%)
* Hybrid working available – 2 days in the office per week
