Interim Payroll Lead (Inside IR35)

Duration: 6 months

Central London

Day rate: £450-600 DOE




Network HR are working exclusively with a small but geographically complex financial services firm who are looking for an Interim Payroll Lead to add some firepower to a payroll centralisation project, based from their London head office.



This critical appointment will focus on centralising payroll from a myriad of vendors onto one platform. The business operates globally and currently operate across 16 countries with 13 offices. This is a complex transformation project, and the ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of what is required for this type of project. This role will also require excellent stakeholder management. Other responsibilities will include:




  • Acting as a subject matter expert, you will guide the business on payroll changes and how they may affect operations
  • Create and implement robust payroll processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the HR Director to monitor activity on aspects of Global Mobility, Company Share plans, Payroll, and pensions
  • Provide support and advice on payroll queries
  • Address and resolve service concerns with current providers
  • Evaluate and update internal processes - calendars, approvals etc…
  • Plan and execute future implementations
  • Address and resolve payslip challenges globally.
  • Work with Treasury function on banking transformation and its impact on payroll
  • Work with Treasury and Finance to ensure reporting on payroll delivery
  • Ensure full systems and process documentation updated to required standard
  • Work with the HR team to ensure they are consulted and understand proposed changes
  • Ensure full and thorough handover to take project through to BAU state




The successful candidate will hold the below experience and knowledge;



  • Change and transformation experience in centralising or de centralising a global payroll function.
  • Financial services background is desirable but not mandatory
  • Ability to evidence a deep understanding of Payroll/systems experience
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • International experience
  • Proactive, autonomous and pragmatic in your approach
