Enterprise Architects – (UK Government Transformation) Senior / Strategic Role Our client is seeking seasoned Enterprise Architects to shape and steer major transformation programmes across the UK Government landscape. These roles are suited to individuals who have spent their careers defining and delivering change in complex environments, and who want to operate at real scale and influence. Key responsibilities Define clear ‘As-Is’, ‘To-Be’ and transitional roadmaps across large, multi-organisation enterprises Lead Business Capability Modelling (BCM) and clearly demonstrate the business value of Enterprise Architecture Drive the modernisation and migration of complex legacy workloads in line with Cloud First policy Prioritise managed services, containerisation and serverless architectures to improve resilience, cost and agility Shape and guide the use of government PaaS and IaaS platforms alongside common SaaS offerings in the market Develop, own and enforce architectural standards and policies consistently across a large enterprise Implement and support agile governance frameworks (e.g. ADRs, TDA participation) that enable pace without losing control Coach and mentor colleagues, lead the architecture community, and ensure structured skills and knowledge transfer Manage and influence stakeholders at Senior Civil Service (SCS) level, building trust and alignment around strategic decisions Profile Around 20+ years’ experience supporting UK Government transformation programmes, on either the client or supplier side Proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale change in complex, regulated environments Strong stakeholder management skills and credibility when engaging SCS-level leaders A collaborative, pragmatic style – balancing ideal architecture with real-world delivery constraints To apply / express interest Suitable candidates are invited to get in touch for a confidential conversation or to share their CV for discussion.
