Machine Shop and Fabrication Supervisor
to join our existing workshop team.
Main ResponsibilitiesnOversee CNC Machining and Welding operations ensuring high attention to detail and safetynTake a lead role in risk assessments and tools box talksnCo-ordinate activity in consultation with the Mechanical Supervisor and PlannernAct as focal point for all machining and fabrication activitynTake leadership responsibility for contractors and visitors within the workshopnEnsure timesheets and inspections reports are completed accurately and submitted in a timely mannernLead the implementation, development, maintenance and improvement of CNC and Fabrication procedures and ensure their on-going usenEnsure QC checks are executed as and when requirednAdhere to all company quality related policies and proceduresnMaintain a clean and tidy workshop and yard areanBe able to operate the forklifts, cranes and vertical lift platforms when trained to do sonEnsure adherence to all local waste management policies and proceduresnReport and participate in investigation of all unsafe practices and/or behavioursnEnsure all maintenance & recertification activities for workshop equipment are implemented and updated accordinglynMonitor workshop activities to ensure all projects are executed efficiently and in line with HMH quality standardsnReport on progress and deviations pertaining to ongoing projectsnEnsure resources are appropriately allocatednProvide input to the annual appraisal process for the machine shopnMaintain a safe, clean, and organized working environmentnDemonstrate unwavering commitment to HMH Values, Compliance, Integrity and HSSE
Skills and KnowledgenQualified to HNC/NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in relevant mechanical or fabrication disciplinenPrevious experience managing CNC/fabrication teamsnUnderstanding of CNC machine controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak, or equivalentnHighly organised with ability to prioritise and communicate goals effectivelynStrong oral and written communication skills (English language)
