Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a BIM Technician on a Permanent basis, located in Banbridge Co Down, N.I.
As a BIM Technician, you will undergo comprehensive training to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career as a BIM Technician. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will learn how to use a range of computer-aided design software, create technical drawings, and contribute to various design projects. This position is ideal for individuals who have a strong interest in engineering and design and are eager to develop their skills under the guidance of a strong, multi disciplined BIM Team.
The BIM Team plays a key role in developing drawings from Revit models ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), architectural and structural elements are accurately represented and meet the project's specifications and standards.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Drawing Development: Extract and prepare 2D drawings from 3D models for construction documentation, including plans, sections, elevations, and details.
* Annotation Management: Populate 3D models with essential annotation data and specifications, ensuring that all components are correctly tagged and categorised.
* Quality Control: Check models & drawings for accuracy and adherence to company standards.
* Collaboration: Work closely with Revit, design, pre-construction, offsite manufacturing, onsite Installation teams, to ensure that the 3D modelling and 2D drawings aligns with project requirements.
* Development: Shadow experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience on our design processes where a development plan will be arranged to learn and develop into utilising Revit 3D modelling software.
Skills
* Ability to work with BIM software developing 2D drawings and 3D modelling with experience in such packages or similar – Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, SolidWorks, Rhino
* Ability to develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models from provided project information, sketches or verbal instructions.
* Populating and managing project drawings, as well as ensuring drawing numbering/revisions are in line with document control requirements
* Ability to carry out internal QA checks on models and drawings.
* Ability to convey ideas, updates, and issues effectively with internal team members.
* Capacity to address challenges, find solutions to modelling issues, and resolve clashes.
* Collaborate well with colleagues, understanding the importance of collective project goals over individual tasks.
* 1 years’ experience with using Revit or other 3D Modelling Software Packages.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages
