Linear recruitment are working with a rapidly going infrastructure company, working on the Northumbrian Water Framework they provide a comprehensive range of water infrastructure services covering all aspects of pipeline networks including investigation, design, planning infrastructure maintenance, mains rehabilitation, new connections, metering and repairs.
To support the imminent appointment as CDM Coordinator / Principal Designer under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM) for an ongoing 9-year design and build water network infrastructure framework contract, our client is seeking to recruit a CDM Design Coordinator.
Responsibilities for this role will include:
* Ensuring compliance with the responsibilities of the Principal Designer under CDM
* Managing the effective coordination of all parties under CDM including clients, designers and contractors
* Informing and assisting clients in discharging their duties at each stage of the process
* Establishing and maintaining a record of principles and decisions taken in relation to health and safety in feasibility studies, including design risk assessment
* Carrying out design reviews with team members and coordinating health and safety matters
* Ensuring that designers have established safe methods for construction of unusual or complex water network designs and making this available as part of the pre-construction information
* Ensuring detailed records of design meetings and decisions are maintained
* Managing effective control of documents and records
* Preparing and submitting project specific Health and Safety Files on completion
* Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships
* The nature of this role will require candidates with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. A background in Health and Safety and knowledge of CDM Regs are essential.
