The Calibration and Optimisation Services (COS) team is a core part of National Highways’ Technology Performance and Availability Management (TPAM) Service which monitors, investigates, calibrates, optimises, and reports on the performance of a wide range of Operational Roadside Technology to support the safe and efficient operation of the Strategic Road Network
We are looking for a Senior Performance Analyst to lead our team on the planning and delivery of Calibration & Optimisation activities. Reporting to the Head of Technology Performance and Availability and the Operational Technology Services Director you will lead the COS team and be responsible for the planning, scheduling and delivery of analysis and optimisation of roadside technology assets.
The COS team are responsible for undertaking analysis of various operational technology assets, including Signs, Signals, CCTV, Smart Motorways and Ramp Metering as well as other roadside traffic technology assets that detect vehicles and set signals in response to the current traffic conditions (eg MIDAS - Motorway Incident Detection and Automatic Signalling).
Using data analytics and engineering judgment the team make improvements to roadside asset settings, review the impact of these changes and report on the operational improvements made and efficiencies delivered. Our goal is to ensure our digital services are optimised as well as they can be to improve Safety, Customer Service and Journey Times.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders to improve the availability, performance, and perception of operational technology systems.
Writing technical reports for non-technical audiences and/or presenting information and findings to wider audiences, both technical and non-technical
You will act as a coach and provide an escalation route for the Associate Performance Analysts?and Performance Analysts
Responsible for planning and leading the regular performance analysis of operational technology, assessing, and reporting on the results, and taking steps to improve performance.
Responsible for the accuracy, quality, and usefulness of data analysis
Be numerate with practical knowledge of data analytics methodologies, tools, and techniques with experience of working with a variety of data types to extract meaningful insights.
Have an understanding of data and information management principles.
It would be desirable to demonstrate advanced Excel and/or Power BI skills.
