About The Role

PD&MS Group now have a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Civil / Structural Engineer to join our Structural Engineering team in our office in the city centre of Glasgow on a full-time, long-term basis. A flexible hybrid working model is available for this role.

Engineer

, you will-Act as the discipline focal point providing support across the business and client streams in our onshore civil engineering sectorExecute engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Design, Technical Study & Detailed Design)Proven and led assessing the effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.Carry out work in accordance with PD&MS and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems.Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their reviewProvide technical assistance to junior team members as and when requiredAbout You

Experience required:Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering CheckingDetailed understanding of all Engineering disciplinesKnowledge and understanding of relevant Industry Codes and StandardsUnderstand the application of Autodesk Design productsProficient in structural analysis software such as TEDDS and STAADPrevious experience in leading a small/medium team of engineers and designersPrevious experience with client interface / estimating / planning scopes of workPrevious experience in delivering scopes of work to project plans and budgetsPrevious experience in onshore brownfield modifications scopes involving pad foundations, raft foundations, pipe supports, secondary steelwork structuresPrevious experience in assessing Ground Investigation information, including Site Investigation Reports, to establish allowable bearing pressures and suitable foundation selectionProficient in concrete and steelwork design, including connections, to EurocodeProficient in compiling Calculation Packs and Technical ReportsWilling to carry out occasional onshore site visits / surveys in the UK (normally 2/3 day durations).Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).QualificationsBachelor's or Masters Degree in Civil / Structural EngineeringChartered MICE or MIStructE (or working towardsCompetent in the use of MS Office applicationsPersonal attributesOur GENES, our core values, define who we are
