Road Load Data Measurement Engineer

WHAT TO EXPECT


This is a truly exciting opportunity for a Road Load Data Measurement Engineer to join our Road Load Data team that are responsible for supporting multiple internal customers with the provision of design and performance in-vehicle measurements.


The department has its own range of measurement and test facilities which are used to measure and verify; vehicle, commodity and system-level targets/requirements. The specific role requires overseeing the preparation and testing of prototype vehicles within the UK and overseas test venues.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


  • Delivery of uncorrupted real-time data of high accuracy.
  • Discovering and reporting key findings to key stakeholders.
  • Exploring opportunities to drive improvements within the department toolset.
  • Coordinate measurement activity including managing technician resources and subcontracted technical support.
  • Provide expertise in measurement devices such as accelerometers, strain gauges and displacement transducers.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED


  • An appreciation and understanding of the precise application of transducer technologies and how they influence products and experiments.
  • Have experience using measurement devices such as accelerometers, strain gauges and displacement transducers.
  • Experience of working with prototype vehicles, engines and transmissions.
  • Capability to verify and analyse real-time data.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of vehicle development and gateway delivery and the need to comply with its timings.
