In-house Pensions Counsel London, Hybrid working (1-day in office per week) 3+ PQE Pensions expert SSQ are partnered with a Financial Services organisation to recruit a pensions lawyer to their team of 10. Offering a varied workload with a pensions focus, this position is suited those with Private Practice or In-house experience. Job Description: Be responsible for providing practical and pragmatic legal advice, taking ownership and demonstrating accountability for providing realistic commercial solutions. Be a Qualified Lawyer with knowledge and experience of the pensions landscape, the Pensions Act 2004. Advising on other legal areas that are relevant in addition to pensions law. Finally, we expect applicants to perform at a high level when either working independently or as part of a team, and to be able to develop effective internal and external working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of seniority. Take responsibility for advising the Board, management, and, where appropriate, staff, on all legal issues Proactively identify the legal input required on relevant workstreams, and take responsibility for discrete projects with minimum supervision from the Head of Legal or work closely with Managing Counsel on bigger projects Conducts legal research and drafts, and supervises the drafting of legal documentation, including papers for the Board and Committees, commercial agreements entered into by the Board with various third parties and negotiating terms within the Board’s risk appetite Application requirements: Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent) Significant experience in the pensions market and pensions law Please get in touch for any information. / .
