This well-established (60-year-old +), prestigious, family run building contractor specialises in renovation, extension and refurbishment of period and bespoke one-off properties.
They have a requirement for a Project Lead / Project Director to take ownership of one of the most prestigious high-end residential projects in the South East.
The project itself is a major refurbishment of a 17th Century private country estate of approximately 2000 acres. There are multiple high-value projects happening simultaneously under one contract including the refurbishment of a Grade II listed property, restoration and alteration of a Grade II listed courtyard, restoration of historic horse stalls and a new events space, staff accommodation and heavy landscaping.
The position:
·The Project Lead would have previously held a senior position (such as construction director, project director or senior contracts manager)
·Must have super-prime residential experience
·Experience managing teams (here there are multiple teams comprising a project manager, site manager and quantity surveyor)
·Must have extensive construction knowledge
·Understand programmes, and be able to relate that to and manage the teams and ensure they are carrying out what you want them to do.
·Have a strategic oversight of everything
·Stand back from everything and take a bird's eye view and formulate a strategy
·Must be a planner, thinker, strategic thinker and excellent communicator
·Calculated and controlled
