As part of the staff team, the Lead Pastor will take on the responsibility of helping grow the mission and maturity of Reality Church London (RCL). This is a senior level role that is responsible for the preaching, teaching, leading, and shepherding RCL as a growing, diverse, city-facing congregation.

ResponsibilitiesnPreaching, teachingnProvide oversight of the ministry of the word through RCL. Which includes Sunday sermons, guest pastors and weekday teaching ministries, such as Community Groups.nChief articulator of RCL’s mission and vision:nWork with elders and pastoral staff to maintain, evolve and execute RCL’s vision and mission according to the needs of the RCL community.nLead RCL’s staff team :nManage the staff team and nurture their spiritual formation and vocational development.nEnsure comprehensive pastoral care for all RCL members.nOversee the training and support of RCL’s lay leaders.nOversee RCL’s mission initiatives in London, including evangelism, mercy and justice, and faith and work programs.nLead efforts to cultivate a culture of generosity within the church and engage in fundraising activities as needed.nServe RCL as an elder and trustee.

QualificationsnPastoral:nFormal theological degree and/or substantial theological training.nA seasoned and experienced leader.nA self-starter able to work on own initiative, proactively identify issues, and creatively problem solve in a fast-paced environment.nEmpathic and approachable including strong pastoral experience.nAgreement with RCL’s affirmation of faith.nCharacter and lifestyle of a spiritual leader, as described in 1 Timothy 3v1-18.nOrganisational:nExcellent written and oral communication skills including representing RCL in other ministry and network contexts.nNumerate and able to deal with basic financial systems and budget management.nAble to prioritise competing demands, able to think strategically and anticipate well.nStrong organisational skills and comfortable within an office environment.nComputer literate with Microsoft Office packages (e.g. Word, Excel, email).

Conditions of EmploymentnPermanent Employee, full-time with a probationary period of 6 months.nHours of worknThe role is full time at 40 hours per week. Four full days midweek (32 hours) and a full day (8 hours) on a Sunday. Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will need to work outside of traditional office hours as per the pastoral need of the church.nSalarynCommensurate with experience.
