Our client is looking for a Geotechnical Lead to joint their business. The Geotechnical Lead will be involved from the tender stage of a project, through to contract delivery and handover.
The role is to co-ordinate the effective and efficient flow of information between design, third parties and construction/bid teams; to manage the design approval process; and to monitor, plan and control progress and resource numbers for design delivery.
The Geotechnical Lead will report to the Head of Design and Construction Management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Tenders
Geotechnical review and management
Assess geotechnical information provided with the tender
Challenge the information and advise on the key risks
Manage specialist consultants to ensure the correct solutions are selected
Advise on additional GI
Input into stabilisation mix design
Input into the selection of the correct plant and techniques (ripping, drying, stabilisation, blasting etc
Temporary works
Provide input into temporary work design
Haul roads
Working platforms
Retaining structures
Materials reviews
Experience and Qualifications:
An engineering or geotechnical related degree
Prior experience in a design management role within a civil engineering environment
Microsoft Project experience essential
P6 Primavera experience ideally
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
A positive approach with confidence to communicate and build relationships with a wide variety of people
Ability to organise and prioritise work accordingly
Full UK driving license and own vehicle
Ideally hold a current CSCS card
