About the rolenThis role is career defining; allowing the right candidate to make their mark, learn while doing and work to propel THE BEAUTY CROP into a trail-blazing, aspirational global beauty brand.nAs Finance Controller, reporting to the Founder and CEO, your role has three streams to support and unblock growth potential:
1. Working closely with the founder and CEO on elevating and continuous improvement of The Beauty Crop’s strategy, supporting all functions to build the necessary foundations to deliver our 3 year objective of delivering +£70m, profitable revenue from £20m, profitable 2024 run raten2. Own and lead the finance function, overseeing the company’s financial planning and accounting operations. In this position, you will not only be commercially aware and provide advice on the best path of growth for the business but you’ll be ‘training to be’ or ‘just qualified’ as a Chartered Accountant.n3. In the short to medium term you will lead and enhance our Operations, Technology & People functions and until newly hired Controllers / Directors take over these areas in the next 18 - 36 months.nFor the right candidate, there is scope to retain leadership of these functions and progress to CFO / COO role if you and the business hit their objectives over the next 2-3 years.nThis is a hybrid role working 3 days in the HQ in Chiswick, West London.

Strategic Support
(Estimate 10% of time):nSupport CEO to codify and continuously improve the strategy to deliver:n+£20m in ‘24, +£45m in ‘25, +$70m in ‘26 - with >15% EBITDAnEmployee NPS >8nCustomer NPS >8
Finance
(Estimate 60% of time):nEstablishing targets, developing budgets, and performing financial analysis;nTechnical financial projects to deliver liaising closely with our CEO and SLT on setting the near, medium, and long-term strategic vision of the business and setting short, medium and long term goals for scalable growth alongside our executive team to increase revenues and profits;nOversee the financial strategic planning of the company by evaluating its performance and potential risks;nPerform regular financial analysis;nManage all aspects of corporate governance & compliance including business /employers insurance, GDPR, and regular / ad hoc legislative requirements;nDevelop budgets that meet the requirements of company departments;nEstablish targets and manage all accounting and finance employees including management accountants and internal auditors;nSupervise all audit and internal control processes;nPrepare detailed reports on the company’s financial performance;nRecognise patterns in company spending, revenue, and recommend solutions to any problem areas;nCoordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the company;nMaintain relationships with banks and financial institutions- ensure working capital funding and / or FX rates are efficientnMaintain relationships with insurance providers, ensuring the business is fully covered according to the details of the contract;nLeading all financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management, reporting against forecasts and responding proactivelynEnsuring compliance with, and accurate reporting of taxes including PAYE / NIC, VAT, Corporation Tax, Global Sales Taxes, Customs & Duties & Laws;nManagement of all commercial IP such as trademarks;nFull management of key operational third-party contracts including but not limited to IT & ERP.
Other Foundations
(estimate - 30% of time):
OperationsnWork collaboratively to develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls, and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of the business;nOversee strategies and execution of all supply chain operations, logistics and fulfilment;nWarehouse management (contract, relationship, SLA, process, systems & security) including the delivery of future upgrades / partnerships;nEvaluate and improve standards for supply chain, and overall business operations to minimise costs and maximise margins;nLead the build out of fit for purpose Ops team, at the right time, to manage the planned growth.nTechnologynEnsure they have the right tools / tech at the right time, for internal users alongside external clients / users;nEnsure all tools / tech are compliant to relevant laws / regulations;nLead the build out of fit for purpose Tech team, at the right time, to manage the planned growth.nPeoplenLead the people plan, identify hiring needs and lead recruiting processes;nWork with function heads and take responsibility to facilitate effective execution and make sure nothing ‘falls through the cracks’ especially which such a strong growth rate;nEstablish and encourage policies that promote company culture and vision;nOversee Health & Safety ensuring the business is fully compliant at all time and lead the team to ensure any new H&S legislation is implemented appropriately and any H&S concerns are handled swiftly.
About YounTo succeed at The Beauty Crop, you must have an entrepreneurial mindset and a growth-oriented attitude.nThe ideal candidate must be comfortable with ambiguity and able to navigate the fast-paced and constantly evolving nature of our direct to consumer, e-commerce and wholesale/retail cosmetics business.nYou must be willing to take calculated risks and have a bias for action, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved in all aspects of the business. You need to be a strategic thinker, with the ability to balance short-term tactics and objectives with long-term vision and goals.
Experience needednTraining for / recently qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent;nMinimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior financial management position in an eCommerce / Retail brand.nExperienced at working at Board/C Suite level;nIn-depth knowledge of accounting software, corporate principals, and financial analysis.
