We are recruiting a Site Manager on behalf of our client on a £17 million Distribution Unit (Warehouse) in Basingstoke.
The Site Manager will oversee the daily operations on the construction site of a £17 million warehouse project in Basingstoke, ensuring that the project is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Site Management:
* Oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
* Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and site staff, ensuring all work is carried out according to project plans and schedules.
* Ensure that the construction site is safe, clean, and orderly.

Project Coordination:
* Liaise with the Project Manager to understand project details, timelines, and budget constraints.
* Communicate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve on-site issues.
* Schedule and conduct regular site meetings with project stakeholders.
*
Quality Control:
* Monitor construction progress and conduct regular inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
* Implement and enforce quality control procedures and safety regulations.
* Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.

Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, safety reports, and progress reports.
* Report on project status, including progress, delays, and any deviations from the plan, to the Project Manager.
* Ensure that all documentation is compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Health and Safety:
* Promote and enforce health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
* Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
* Provide safety training and guidance to site personnel.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS card).
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction site management, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
Experience in warehouse or industrial building projects is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Thorough understanding of construction processes, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
