Job Description: Nursery Nurse Reports to: Room Leader
Location: Nursery-based in Watford WD
Salary: £26,624.00 per annum
The role holder will be required to travel to other settings or locations as required by the company and will be expected to provide support at other sites.
Role Purpose:
The Nursery Nurse is responsible for creating an environment in which children's individual needs are met and for supporting the management team in ensuring that high-quality childcare is provided to all. This role profile is not exhaustive, and the Nursery Nurse is expected to fulfil any duty as required for the effective running of the setting.

Key Accountabilities:
Early Years
Act as a role model for the Early Years, following and implementing the EYFS at all times.
Understand and engage with the room development plan and any requirements outlined by Ofsted.
Fulfil the role of a key-person and work in partnership with parents/carers, catering for all children's individual needs; observing, planning and evaluating development activities; keeping accurate records and maintaining regular contact and communication with parents.
Support the Room Leader to ensure that all nursery initiatives are fully embedded into the room; take on responsibility, or shared responsibility, for an Early Years initiative or additional project in the nursery.
Respond to parent queries or requests in a polite and professional manner, seeking help or signposting parents to the correct person within the nursery as appropriate.
Adhere to and role model best practice safeguarding requirements.
Understand the standards required of room audits and work to achieve these standards in everyday practice.People
Observe best practice and legislative requirements from the Equality Act when working with team members.
Support with new staff induction into the room.
Take responsibility for staff members covering in the room to ensure consistency of care.
Support the Nursery Management Team to ensure that ratios are met at all times.Health and Safety
Adhere to legislative and Company requirements in relation to health and safety.
Proactively manage risk in the nursery and role model safe working practices.Marketing
Support the Nursery Management Team in achieving occupancy targets through helping out with company events and marketing initiatives.
Assist in the effective use of social media and other marketing activities as required.
Support with show rounds for prospective parents by presenting an appropriate image of the nursery during show rounds and engaging positively with prospective parents whom you meet.Building/Utilities Maintenance
Take good care and responsibility for equipment and furniture in the room, ensuring that issues are raised appropriately.

Essential
Full and relevant Early Years qualification
Full understanding and working knowledge of the EYFS
Awareness of the Ofsted inspection framework
Experience of working within a team
Experience of providing customer service
Good understanding of health and safety requirements
