Electronics Material Estimator
Location – Aldershot
Hours – Monday to Thursday – 8:30 – 5:00 Friday 8:30 – 4:00
Working within the purchasing team my client is seeking an experienced electronics estimator/buyer to control the material estimating process. Using various front-end tools to undertake BOM configuration and material costing. And assisting in the purchase of electronic components and related materials.
My client works with a wide variety of leading OEMs and technology-focused customers across 20 different sectors. Our ultra-modern factory is configured to produce complex hardware for NPI to medium batch series production of PCBA assemblies and finished product assembly and test.
Responsibilities of the Electronics Material Estimator
* BOM creation and control within the ERP environment.
* Producing material costings for NPI and series production orders.
* Using digital tools for BOM importing, mapping and material assignment.
* Identifying opportunities for cost savings within the quote/bid process.
* Material review for obsolesce and EOL items.
* Handling BOM level alternatives, using informal and AS9100 formal process control.
* Working with customers and account managers on technical queries.
* Undertake material cost reviews with responsibility for sign off.
Qualifications & Competencies of the Electronics Material Estimator
* Good in depth knowledge of electronic components.
* Inventory management skills.
* Understanding of issue control.
* Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
* High level of familiarity with Microsoft Office, predominantly Excel.
* Excellent communication skills, demonstrable with customers and suppliers.
* Hold a full, clean UK Driving Licence and be within a commutable distance to our offices in Aldershot, under usual travelling conditions.
* Desirable – Experience of the blank PCB manufacturing market and supply chain.
* Desirable – Ability to review electronic components and data for alternatives.
* Desirable – Ability to assist with purchasing materials for build orders
