Your new company
Hays Education are working exclusively with several large secondary schools and academies in Derby and the wider Derbyshire area who are looking for subject specialist teachers to join their departments. They are looking for newly qualified teachers who graduated in Summer 2024 or 2023 who are looking to gain additional experience within their specialist subject areas. They are keen to hear from recent Education graduates who have specialised in any subjects including English, Maths, Science, Humanities, PE, Art &DT and more. You will initially be working on a temporary basis through Hays Education, however for the right candidates, they would consider offering permanent teaching contracts and support in completing ECT training years.

Your new role
You will work Monday-Friday, term time-only and be planning and delivering lessons to KS3 through to KS5 students (experience depending). You'll be working with full-classes and small groups alongside other teachers and in classroom-support, to ensure excellent teaching and learning across the school and your specialist subject. The schools will also consider part-time applicants, so please enquire if this would be better suited to you.

What you'll need to succeed
You will hold Qualified Teacher Status and have UK experience of teaching within a classroom during your training. You will be able to work collaboratively within a large team of staff and be flexible in your approach to teaching and learning. You will be passionate, enthusiastic and encouraging, with the ability to form strong bonds with students. You will set and maintain high standards within every classroom whilst creating a fun and effective learning environment and have excellent understanding of safeguarding, inclusion and behaviour policies.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a daily rate of between £125-£145 (depending on experience). In addition to this, we run a Refer-A-Friend Scheme where you can receive £350 in vouchers to spend on the high street for each referral (T&Cs apply).
