Diesel Maintenance Technician needed for a multinational facilities management organisation based in the Andover area who are looking for a Diesel Maintenance Technician who will play a pivotal role in providing first line maintenance in line with schedules to ensure deployable back up equipment is consistently maintained and in working order in the event of an emergency.
What the role entails:
As a Diesel Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:
Fault finding and diagnosis of equipment in order to determine the next course of action.
Participating in the configuration of deployment tranches and assessing and isolation of the DBUE (deployable back-up equipment) post deployment including investigation work of any damage to equipment that is identified through the Standard Operating Procedures.
Support Training Activities and the movement of equipment for activities other than Emergency Deployment.
React to the depot during an Emergency Call out and attend off site locations during an Emergency Deployment.
Follow corporate practices in all areas with specific emphasis on Health and Safety including Risk assessments, setting to work and toolbox talks ensuring tools are used correctly and adequately maintained and work areas are always kept tidy and free from hazards.
Ability to take a measured step by step approach to analyse information and solve problems.
Remain calm under pressure and be able to respond effectively during an emergency situation leading others where required.Experience required for the Diesel Maintenance Technician position:
Previous experience of working with plant and diesel engines with an aptitude for mechanical and/or electrical understanding.
Previous experience of working with plant, engines, or machinery and a minimum NVQ2 or city and guilds in an industry related mechanical qualification such as Vehicle Mechanics Mechanical Engineering.
Time served apprenticeship and a higher qualification is desirable but not essential.
Desirable:
18th Edition qualification will be advantageous.
Hold or have the ability to train to drive a 16tonne FLT as well as C PLUS E licence (LGV)
Experience of JCB and or Heavy Plant/Machinery
All post holders must receive Driver familiarisation training or achieve appropriate Licences prior to driving the clients' assets.
