The Role
As a Humanities Teacher at Tamworth School, you will deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in subjects such as history, geography, and social studies, tailored to the needs of students with SEN. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated humanities lessons that meet the needs of students with SEN.
Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with SEN coordinators and other staff.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies as needed.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support the holistic development of students.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN education.

Passion for Humanities: Do you have a genuine enthusiasm for teaching history, geography, and social studies?
SEN Expertise: Do you have experience and a deep understanding of teaching students with special educational needs?
Effective Communication: Can you explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner, both to students and colleagues?
Empathy and Patience: Do you have the patience and understanding to support students with diverse needs and challenges?
Adaptability: Are you flexible in your teaching approach to meet the unique needs of each student?
Team Collaboration: Are you able to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team to support student development?
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A degree in Humanities (History, Geography, Social Studies, or a related field).
Proven experience teaching students with special educational needs in a secondary school setting.
Strong knowledge of SEN strategies and best practices.
Excellent classroom management skills.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest SEN educational practices.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
