Our banking client is seeking a senior banking figure to become their Deputy Head of Overseas Branch (officially Deputy Country Manager) supporting and covering when required, the Head of Overseas Branch SMF19 in ensuring the bank is meets its strategic commercial goals, regulatory & governance requirements, development/innovation, and overall efficiency of the operating and support departments of London Branch. Knowledge and experience of the MENA / GCC region would prove valuable to your application.

You will be primarily responsible for the following;

To manage and enhance relationships with existing and potential new customersnTo oversee the efficient and compliant running of all Departments of the Bank.nTo supervise customer services team and credit departmentnTo ensure Account opening, KYC and due diligence are updatednTo particularly oversee and monitor the Credit Area and to evaluate the level of Risk involved in the extension of Credit to Customers and give advice on the operational feasibility of loan proposals to Management and to Head Office.nRegular briefing with Credit Department and attendance at credit meetings. Oversight of credit applications and reviews.nTo monitor the overall profitable use of financial resources.nTo ensure business is conducted in accordance with the existing Procedures as defined in the Bank’s Procedure Manual applicable to all Key Departments of the Bank.nTo review Operating Procedures and recommend revision where appropriate and review services and maintain contact with others in the market to keep Head Office and Country Manager - London advised of all developments in operational procedures and services in London .nReceipt and analysis of market and regulatory notices. Daily liaison with departments to ensure orderly and efficient running of the BanknTo be a member of the Management Committee which monitors all activities and liquidity interest rates and foreign exchange business and ensure FCA, Bank of England and Head Office requirements are respected .nTo ensure Operations – Banking Business Compliance and Accountancy is in compliance with the Banks Procedures and Standing instructions issued by Management and/or Head Office and which thoroughly protect and control the Branches Assets and Liabilities i.e. to ensure good management of our resources, and disposition thereof.nTo ensure that each item on the Branch’s Balance Sheet is understood and to monitor closely a fluctuation of say above 5% in any daily balance (e.g. Geneva Fiduciary funds) is monitored/checked as to the reason for such fluctuation.nTo assist and develop special projects as directed by ManagementnInternal Audits - to ensure early response and that recommendations are carried out.nContingency planning in case of breakdowns.nEnsure compliance with regulations/requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 and update Management and staff with any/all changes in this field.nAdherence to controls and security as detailed in the Banks procedure manual.nTo ensure compliance with standing instructions and memos issued by the FCA, and Head Office.nTo ensure Compliance with:n-Bank Operational Procedures, and written Management instructionn-UK Law and Legal Practicesn-Bank of Englandn-FCAn-Inland Revenuen-Other local and international authoritiesnTo oversee and monitor all matters of a legal nature affecting the Banks business in conjunction with Management.nTo monitor problems/complaints highlighted internally and/or externally by queries from Branches, Correspondents and Customers and to ensure speedy and appropriate action is taken.nVerifications are performed in a timely manner and in accordance with controls and procedures.nDeputise for Country Manager when absent.
