We are seeking to recruit an R&D Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company specialising in crushing and screening equipment. Our clients' innovative solutions drive efficiency and quality across the industry. As they expand their R&D team, they seek a talented R&D Engineer to join them in Omagh.
Your new role
As an R&D Engineer, your responsibilities will span the entire product development lifecycle. You'll analyse existing mechanical systems in our machines, leveraging benchmarking to enhance quality and efficiency. Additionally, you'll create high-standard manufacturing drawings that align with industry standards, supporting detailed work instructions for product manufacturing and installation. Your CAD expertise will be crucial as you maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for presentations, marketing, and aftermarket support. When mechanical failures occur, you'll investigate and recommend corrective actions. Furthermore, you'll actively engage in lean manufacturing strategies, contributing to continuous quality improvement.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you'll need the following qualifications and skills:
Education:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years in a relevant industry, with a preference for crushing & screening expertise.
Software Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), essential 3D CAD experience (Pro-Engineer or Creo), and advantageous 2D AutoCAD skills.
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Team Player:
Proven ability to collaborate across departments.
What you'll get in return
In return, the successful candidate will be rewarded with a salary of up to £45,000 depending on experience, an 8% bonus and full private healthcare coverage with Aviva. Basic holidays start at 32 days and increase with service tenure.
