I am working with a delightful property company based in West London, that is seeking a Property Accountant to join their friendly, supportive and team. As the property accountant, you will play an important role within the business, overseeing and running the financial operations of the organisation.
The main responsibilities will include:
Full Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow statements. Ensure total compliance with accounting standards and legal regulations related to the property sector.
Budgeting / Forecasting: Co-ordinating and preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitoring actual performance against targets and provide analysis to support business direction and eventual growth.
Taxation Duties: Handle tax planning to ensure compliance with HMRC and tax legislations/requirements. Prepare and submit tax returns accurately / on time.
General Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic planning, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve overall financial performance.
Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent financial discrepancies.
Audits: Co-ordinate and support external audits, addressing audit queries, and implementing audit recommendations.
Vendor and Client Management: Oversee financial transactions with vendors and clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual terms.
Compliance and Regulation: Stay updated on accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices. Implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
Financial Advice: Offer financial advice and guidance to the management team on business decisions and investments.
Requirements:
Accounts qualification is ideally required.
Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the real estate or property sector.
Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and tax regulations.
